Hello!

Welcome to Revenant Elegy, the successor of Project Revenant with improved systems and new custom content made by the RE team! Many of PR's original elements have been tweaked for the new server in hopes of better quality of life while also reducing power creeping as best as we can-- to help ensure the longevity of the server for years to come! This has been an intense team effort between GM Kins, CC Eddga, CM Pon and myself, we sincerely hope that you will enjoy the perks and quirks of the new server!

Here I have a generalised guide for new and returning players to refer to, it isn't intended to be a one-size-fits-all sort of thing; but I hope it helps to point you in the right directions while navigating this game. The information presented is mostly based off of experience from myself and other players over the years, alongside some tweaks in relation to Revenant Elegy respectively.

Note: Information is subject to change without notice. This guide is still a work in progress!

(Some) Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m new, what should I do?

Do your first job change and the NPC will offer to warp you to Malangdo right after. Otherwise, use the Warper to Malangdo. Talk to the cat NPC and do a quest called Gear Up, Buttercup! for free basic gears!

Also, here are some noteworthy pages to read before starting the game!

Q: Is this server P2W (Pay to Win)?

Nope, the Cash Shop is purely cosmetic!

Q: Is there a job changer NPC?

No, all job change quests are vanilla with minor fixes (of bugs)

Q: What is a ‘leech?’

It’s when one or more persons who actively kills monsters while the other(s) do nothing but still benefit from the EXP gained. Ideally this should be consensual between everyone involved.

Also, please keep in mind that idle players are excluded from the Party EXP Bonus.

Q: Should I focus on leveling or earning zeny for gear first?

The answer is subjective to your playstyle. However there is a new Monster Hunter system that helps you both level AND earn zeny!

Q: I can job change at job level 40, but should I grind to job level 50?

As a (non-trans) First Class, it’s entirely up to you. BUT as a (trans) High-First Class, yes you should hit job level 50 as your Trans Class skills may have more requirements from your High-First Class skill tree! Better to be safe than sorry, especially if you don’t have a build in mind already.

Note: Trans means Transcendent Class

Q: If I do a quest on character, do I have to repeat it on all other characters?

Nope! That single completion of the quest will benefit all characters under the Master Account! (Custom feature of this server)

Note: cooldowns are also applied to the Master Account, not just individual characters.

Q: How do I reset my stats/skills?

Use the Pub Amulet in your ‘Use’ Inventory and go to the Revenant Pub, there is a drunk cat sitting nearby who will reset your stats and/or skills! (free for level 70 and below)

Also, make use of our Stat Calculator to plan out your journey!

Q: Is multi-clienting allowed?

Yes, and you can run as many clients with as many in-game accounts (while using one master account) as your computer can handle.

Q: How to contact GM?

Try @request [your message here] in-game, it'll ping a GM or CM if they are online!

Alternatively you can go to the server Discord and create a ticket or ask for help from the community!

⚠️ WARNING: Please be wary of scammers impersonating official staff! ⚠️

Official staff will never pressure, threaten or harass players for personal information or money. Report any suspicious activity!

(For some reason, scammers love chatrooms for impersonating staff in-game too... We don't like to use chatrooms.)

Noteworthy @Commands

There are so many Commands available. Here's a list of the ones that I think you should definitely know (at the very least, if you don't want to read the actual page).

Command Function
@refresh Refreshes your client-state, great for when you're position bugged or stuck on NPC dialogue. Tip: Add this to your alt+m hotkey bar
@hold Locks your character in place to avoid misclicking and moving out of a party stack or something. Tip: Add this to your alt+m hotkey bar
@ltp Shows your last teleport location on minimap.
@playerstats Shows various game stats for that character (such as Top 3 Monster Killed, Playtime, Deaths, etc.).
@mi <monster name or ID> Gives information about that monster, including item drops + drop rates.
@ii <item name or ID> Links items related to that name (and shows it's ID).
@whodrops <item name or ID> Gives top 10 (highest rate) monsters that drop the item.
@whereis <monster name or ID> Shows the spawn locations and amounts of a mob.
@ws <item name or ID> Gives list of player vendors who sell the item. Note: there is a cooldown when searching.
@wb <item name or ID> Gives list of player vendors who has a buy shop for the item. Note: there is a cooldown when searching.
@settings Pulls up a cute girl who manages your game settings hehehe.
@autoloot <0.01 to 100> Enables autoloot anywhere from 0.01% to 100%. Note: There are also other types of autoloot commands available.
@showrare <0.01 to 100> Announces to you when a drop under a specific % is dropped.
@bigmob <monster ID> Enlarges up to 25 different monsters.

Stats Briefly Explained

General Leveling Spots

Based off of personal experience and feedback from other players. I will try to provide the best map(s) with their relevant monster(s), plus tips and other information. Please bear in mind that I will not list every single monster available on that map if they are deemed to be minor spawns, so please be careful when hunting! You might get an unwelome surprise!

Also, see Monster Changes!

Note: Some maps may not be in order right now, but I will try to update this when I have time.

Tips on Making/Saving Zeny

Some suggestions are better than others, I simply try to provide various choices for newbies :) Making zeny with little resources/tools requires a lot of patience and effort! It gets easier as time goes on when you have friends/gear to farm with! Please feel free to provide your own tips and tricks for me to add to this guide! See Drop Changes and Item Changes as drop-rates and item values (raw zeny) have been either buffed or nerfed.

Note: Raw Zeny refers to zeny earned from selling items directly to an NPC only, not to other players

Important Tips:

  • Make a merchant on a separate in-game account and get the skills Overcharge (OC) level 10 and Discount (DC) level 10, this will help you both save and earn of zeny when dealing with NPCs!
  • Take advantage of Buy Shops. They are vends that people put up that want to buy bulk amounts of things such as brewing materials
  • Use your merchant to Vend or sell things to other players, be sure to use the autotrade feature after you set up your vend (type @at and hit enter, the game will log you out with vend active)
  • Make an Acolyte that can memo (up to 3) places to Warp yourself instead of using the Warper (Bluegems are cheaper than the Warper)

Best (Pocket Change) Method: Monster Hunter

Early-Game Methods:

  • Sell Cash Points to other players, rates fluctuate
  • Desert Wolf: Sell Claw of Desert Wolf and Katar [2] to NPC (The claws are pocket change but they drop frequently, just need to be patient)
  • Marin: Save Aquamarines to sell to players in future (it is a crafting material for some endgame gear)
  • Noteworthy Cards: Poring, Pupa, Creamy, Pecopeco, Drops, Horn, Thara Frog, Roda Frog, Wolf, etc. (Invest in yourself or sell to other players)
  • Vend (to players): Rough Elunium, Elunium, Rough Oridecon, Oridecon, brewing materials (there's always demand for these)

Mid-Game Methods:

Anything that sells for 300~500z each to the NPC with level 10 Overcharge is a win to me lol

  • "Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind--" ~Literally Everyone
  • Sleepers: Great Nature -> Umbala Breakdown Quest for Green Live, sell to NPC
    • Do not kill Sleepers with a ranged class, they will cast Defender on idle and it'll take FOREVER to kill afterward
    • Also, this server allows up to 200 Ore to be broken down at once!
    • Green Live value has been nerfed but it's still good pocket change from NPC
  • Wanderers: (gl_cas02) Sell Yggdrasil Leaves and Skulls to NPC
    • Wanderers have high flee, you want to have ~283 hit on a Hunter/Sniper or an Arrow Vulcan Gypsy/Clown
    • Wanderers are also weak to Earth element
  • Raydrics & Abysmal Knight: (gl_cas02) Drops Elu (AK also drops Ori)
  • Siromas/Snowiers/Ice Titans: Sell Frozen Hearts to NPC
  • Roween: Combat Battle Gloves (decent drop rate, used as primary weapon for Asura, as well as rerolling options)
  • Geffenia (Best for raw zeny but Sign Quest (nerfed) is required)
  • Noteworthy Cards: Porcellio, Zerom, Marc, Phen, Alligator, Isilla, Alice, Medusa, Hodremlin, Raydric, Abysmal Knight, Zipper Bear, etc.
    • Also cards that give % DMG or Resistance to specific monster elements/types are generally good

End-Game Methods:

This is really subjective lol Everyone has different strategies and end-game content gets updated over time

  • Hmm... MvPs...
  • Again, "Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind, Hill Wind--" ~Literally Everyone
  • Again, again, Geffenia
  • Abyss Lake: dragon parts are good for zeny but they also hurt a lot, also stone bucklers
  • Magma Dungeon 2: same as above, good zeny but tough to solo farm efficiently

Checklist Early & Late Game

Generalised list of things you should do or get on this server

Early Game

  • Make at least 3 accounts (under one master account)
    • 1 account for Merchant with Overcharge and Discount level 10, Vend level 1+ is optional
    • 1 account for Acolyte with Warp level 4 + Blessing/Agility Up level 10
    • 1 account (or more) for your main class(es). It wouldn't hurt to have 1 class per account.
    • (optional) 1 account (or same account as main) for farming materials/items.
  • Save up for a decent weapon first? Then armour and a shield (more defense), and then accessories and cards
    • This is subjective, my own personal opinion on order of priority
  • Take advantage of Monster Hunter quests to earn zeny while leveling
  • Craft a Fish in Mouth and use Fresh Fish as soon as possible, it is better than using potions
  • Save Old Coins for Class Figure (accessories) (50 coins each)
    • You can equip 2 of the same class
  • Save Hunting Coins for HD Elu/HD Ori (30 coins each) to upgrade future endgame gear

Late Game

Overall, it really depends on what you want to do when you reach end-game. So here are some basic stuff if you want to join MvP parties for zeny or gear or fun.

  • Save Old Coins to get Gym Passes up to 10 passes
  • Recommended Quests: Biolabs; Rachel Sanctuary, Veins Siblings, Curse of Gaebolg, Nameless Island
    • To access Bio3, Rachel Sanctuary, Nameless Island and Cursed Abbey
  • Recommended Item: Beezlebub Wing
    • Expensive, but very convenient to have! They are tradeable as well.

Recommended Cards

Another generalised list of stuff! Subject to change upon future content updates!

  • Recommended Cards (MvP'ing (Support) with Parties):
    • Important - Anti-freeze (Marc Card, Armour) - Alternatively, get any gear set that has Freeze Resistance option that totals to 100%

    • Grand Pecopeco (<- Pecopeco) - HP+400 I fucking love pecos

    • Pip (Quest) - PD+3, +5% Success Rate for Brewing and Cooking
    • Incubus - SP+3%, 2% chance to gain 1% of damage dealt as SP
    • Teddy Bear (-> Abandoned Teddy Bear) - SP+100 (-> SP+200)
    • Baby Desert Wolf (-> Desert Wolf) - Int+1, SP+30 (-> Int+3, SP+130)
    • Mutating White Knight - MATK+2% ATK+2% (When evolved, it can do +7% Magical DMG OR +8% Physical DMG to Bosses instead)
    • Am Mut (<- Dokebi) - MATK+4%
    • Orc Warrior (-> High Orc -> Orc Hero) - ATK+10 (-> ATK+25 -> ATK+50)

Note: Please pay attention to the direction of (->) vs (<-) above, this is intentional

(-> ?) means each evolution stage of the monster is good, I also provide the perks from each stage

(? <-) is previous evolution stages listed for reference, nothing more
