Jotunn's Dominion

Jotunn's Dominion is the deepest reach of Thor's Volcano - a stretch of tunnels sealed off by ancient dwarven runework, and only recently opened again. It is intended for high level, well-geared characters.

The sealed passage on thor_v02 only admits characters who have passed through the Collapsed Gap during The Cold Beneath the Flame questline. Beyond it lies the frozen lava tunnel (thor_tube) with its forge and smiths, the deep passage (thor_v04), and thor_v05 at the volcano's heart.

thor_v05 is an Individual Loot Map.

The Weekly Hunt

Once the seal is placed, the Young Dwarf at the frozen forge (thor_tube 40/49) has standing work: the creatures of the Dominion grow around the realm's leftover cold, and left alone they crowd the veins he studies. He needs their numbers thinned once a week, and he pays for it.

  • Level 4 - 500 kills, any mix, in thor_v04 (the north east cave).
  • Level 5 - 125 kills, any mix, in thor_v05 (the south west cave).

The pay is the same either way: 28,000,000 Base EXP and 15,000,000 Job EXP, plus a shard of Permafrost. You may switch between the two hunts at any time, but the ledger is rewritten from zero - every kill so far is struck out.

Note: The reward can be claimed once per week per master account, and the week turns over on Thursday at midnight server time. Finished hunts are never lost - if someone under your name has already collected this week, your kills keep, and the pay is yours first thing after the reset.

The Volcano's Heart (thor_v05)

Down the south passage - an Individual Loot Map. Each of its three residents takes only 20% damage from all but one kind of damage, and all three take only 20% damage from area-of-effect skills (stacking with the off-type reduction): single-target attacks of the right type still clear fastest.

Deep-Earth Stalactite

Summoned in pairs by Diamond Salamander, Blue Flamed Obsidian, and Light-Refracting Golem. Unlike its masters it has no resistances, but it hits hard and lays icy traps underfoot.

Jotunn

The master of the Dominion is not found on any field. He is challenged through Jotunn's Palace on thor_scene - a scripted MVP instance for a party, unlocked by completing The Cold Beneath the Flame (any character under your master account). Entry costs 30 Magnificent Diamonds, 30 Raw Diamond Ore, and 500,000 Zeny. Jotunn is immune to area-of-effect skills - only single-target damage lands.
